Minnesota Bird Information
The Minnesota Ornithologists' Union (MOU) website has a wealth of information on species of birds in Minnesota. The following links will take you to specific pages on the MOU website:
SPECIES RANGE MAPS: Similar to common field guide range maps, this page includes a distribution map of Minnesota for each species that has been observed in the state. INTERACTIVE SPECIES OCCURRENCE MAPS: Similar to the link above, this page allows you to limit the amount of information displayed by family of birds, and/or the year and season. The maps display observations reported by Minnesota birders for the season selected. MIGRATION DATES TABLE: This page lists birds in taxonomic order, and display the average date in which the species arrives, or departs during migration. It is very useful for understanding WHEN to go birding in the state. MIGRATION CHARTS: This interactive graphing feature allows you to select a observation data in graph form for any family of species reported in the state. Data typically includes the current, and previous calendar year.

| Drawdown Lakes |
Your local Department of Natural Resources (DNR) division of waters may be able to let you know which lake/marsh habitats are scheduled for drawdown. Drawdown wetlands often provide excellent shorebird watching opportunities. |
